How much does a container kit cost? 2026 prices explained

Price is almost always the first question you ask us — and rightly so. With a bigger purchase we all want a clear number, not a vague “it depends.” So in this post we’ll tell you what a ContBlox container kit costs, and honestly explain what else affects the final figure beyond the kit price itself. No fine print.

The kit price, clearly and up front

  • ContBlox 3×3 m (approx. 9 m²) — €3,536 incl. VAT
  • ContBlox 3×6 m (approx. 18 m²) — €4,410 incl. VAT

These are the prices for the kits as you receive them: all structural elements, walls, roof, fasteners and instructions. Delivery is not included in those two figures — we explain why just below.

Why delivery isn’t in the price

Simply because it wouldn’t be fair. Someone near the capital and someone on the far edge of the country shouldn’t pay the same if their transport costs differ. Instead of baking in an average and shortchanging someone, we calculate delivery based on your location. Tell us where the unit will be installed and you get an exact figure, not an estimate.

What else affects the final cost

So there are no surprises, let’s be honest about where extra costs can appear — some are yours rather than ours, but they still belong in the calculation:

  • Preparing the base. The container needs a flat, firm base. If you already have one, the cost is zero. If concrete strips or a slab are needed, plan that separately.
  • Connections. Electricity, water and drainage depend on what you’ll use the unit for. Storage may not need them; a living space will.
  • Interior fit-out. Furniture, extra insulation or heating come down to your wishes and budget.

How it compares to conventional building

Here’s where it gets interesting. With conventional building you pay for materials, a crew, time and often delays too. With a self-assembly kit, two people do most of the work themselves, which means the most expensive line — labour — drops out of the equation. The saving on assembly is real and tangible, not a marketing line.

Is it worth it?

Depends what you’re comparing it to. If you want the cheapest sheet-metal shed, a container isn’t that. But compared to a durable, robust building you can use as an office, a weekend place or a workshop — and that you assemble yourself in a day or two — the number quickly makes sense. And because the system is modular, you don’t have to buy everything at once: start with one unit and add when the time is right.

The easiest way to learn the exact price for your situation is to tell us which model you want and where it’s going. We’ll prepare a quote with delivery calculated in — no obligation.
