18 square metres that can surprise you
The 3×6 m model offers 18 m² of living space — enough for a living area with a sleeping corner. It’s not a villa, and it doesn’t need to be. For a weekend place where you come to sleep, eat and get away from the city, that’s exactly the right size. Many say it’s precisely the limited space that makes a weekend place relaxing: fewer things, less upkeep, more rest.
The main advantage: it grows with you
This is the heart of the ContBlox system. You don’t have to build it all at once. You start with one 3×6 unit, and when the need shows up — or the budget allows — you add the next. Units go side by side in any length, or stacked up to three high. The place takes shape gradually, on your timeline, rather than as one big project you’d have to finance in one go.
Why it adds up financially too
The 3×6 model is €4,410 incl. VAT (delivery not included). Because two people assemble the unit themselves, the construction crew drops out of the bill — and for a weekend place you’re building for enjoyment rather than under deadline pressure, self-assembly is almost the natural choice. You start with one unit, use it, and only once you know what you actually need do you add the next. No money is buried in space you don’t use.
Practical things worth thinking about
- Access. Weekend plots are often at the end of a track — check that delivery can reach the site.
- Connections. Water and electricity are often the biggest challenge at remote locations; plan solutions in advance.
